Clearwater Construction supports apprenticeship programmes at Tamaki College

2052.jpg Clearwater Construction is a proud supporter of the Gateway Programme at Tamaki College. We are pleased to congratulate our student for 2010, Sione Tuipulotu. Sione achieved all of his BCITO unit standards after completing the programme at Clearwater. He is now planning to start a builder's apprenticeship in January.  We are looking forward to supporting a second student from Tamaki College in 2011.

“Tamaki College fully appreciates the support and work opportunity Clearwater Construction provided for Sione Tuipulotu. It is imperative for youth to explore the reality of work and to gain an understanding of what their future can hold. The Gateway programme provides this for the students and relies on the generous support of employers. Thank you to the team at Clearwater Construction for hosting Sione in 2010." - Kathy Miln, Gateway Coordinator, Tamaki College

The Gateway Programme aims to:
  • Provide additional learning opportunities through work placements for students
  • Give students industry standards and credits towards national qualifications, including their NCEA – a minimum of 10 credits is required
  • Build students’ workplace experience to improve work readiness
  • Widen students’ knowledge about the world of work
  • Assist students to see the relevance of their learning at school
