Details:
The three sister companies; Clearwater Construction, DHC Consulting and D&H Steel Construction, worked together to complete this design-build project in record time for their key client Countrywide Group.
Construction involved stripping back the existing building to leave only the structure, ready for re-strengthening with additional structural steel and BRB braces, and enclosing the refurbished space with a mix of curtain wall, aluminium composite panels and blockwork.
Clearwater's early involvement in the project and through the use of staged consents meant that the demolition and re-strengthening works were able to be undertaken while architectural design was being completed. This resulted in a shortened programme and early handover to the end tenants allowing early occupation and operation of businesses.
The 2,900m² of prominent, A-grade office space, above 730m² of ground floor hospitality and retail space adds to the growing portfolio of successful rebuilds completed in Christchurch by Countrywide Group and Clearwater Construction.
